The name?

The city of Rajkot is located in the Gujarat province in the North West of India on the banks of the river Aji. The huge river bed remains dry except for the monsoon months of July to September. Rajkot is famous for many things including its jewellery market, silk embroidery and Watch Parts. However Mahatma Gandhi, the great Indian Leader, thinker and Father of the Nation spent his early formative years in Rajkot when his father was a Diwan to one of the Saurastra Nawab, and the house where Gandhi lived is now a museum named Kaba Gandhi No Delo. Here he went to school at Alfred High School, now known as Mahatma Gandhi High School in his honour.
